One of the things I love about living in the Netherlands is that it’s easy to go to another country for the weekend! After growing up in Australia, where you can drive for days and still be in the same state, this is still a novelty for me.

In February 2023, my partner and I visited the beautiful city of Leuven, around a two hour drive from my home in The Hague

Lunch on day 1

After arriving, we literally found the first pub and ordered a delicious lunch….with Belgian beer of course!

Hotel: The Fourth

After lunch we checked into our beautiful hotel! For quite a reasonable price (via booking.com), we stayed in this amazing building, right on the main square.

Church

Leuven is well known for the church, which was right next to our hotel.
