“Black Grace is one of the most dynamic and hip dance companies I have ever seen: an exciting mix of Maori power and contemporary dance.’’ – Samuel Wuersten, Artistic Director Holland Dance Festival
It was years ago the New Zealand based dance company Black Grace was spotted by the Holland Dance Festival. For the first time since 2003 artistic director of the festival Samuel Wuersten brings the dance company back to the Netherlands. February 10th the Holland Dance Festival celebrates the Dutch premier of Verse 3 in Theater de Veste in Delft.
Strong explosions of dance’
Especially for the Holland Dance Festival Neil Ieremia selects a diverse program from the rich body of work that Black Grace has developed in over twenty years. Verse 3 is an exciting collection of iconic short choreographies, full of rhythm, energy and grace. Accompanied by an eclectic soundtrack with traditional music from the Pacific, J.S. Bach and popmusic by Fat Freddy’s Drop, an evening with Black Grace is an intense experience full of surprises.
The performance of Black Grace wasn’t made especially for kids, but they are very welcome to attend. Holland Dance recommends this for children from 10 years and older.
