Whether you are living in the Netherlands or just visiting (for a while), a Museumkaart is a great idea. You only need to visit a few museums to make the 75 euro (annual) fee worthwhile.
I’ve had one in the past, but let it expire during lockdown.
This week I finally got around to renewing.
You can either order one online (and it takes up to 5 days to arrive), or buy one at a few major museums, use a temporary version immediately for a few days until you register it and receive your card.
If you’re only visiting for a few days, it’s probably not worthwhile, but if you plan on staying in the Netherlands for at least a few weeks, I’d recommend getting one and exploring as many of the hundreds of museums that offer entry with the card.
The website gives more information in both Dutch and English, alongside a list of all the museums that take part.
I’m going to keep myself a list below of the ones I visit in the next year using the card.
The first (where I bought it) was:
Kunstmuseum Den Haag
A week later, I visited:
Fries Scheepvaart Museum
More here soon!
Renee 🙂
